WHERE TO PARK
Parking in downtown Royal Oak on a weekend can be a challenge. There aren’t many free spots downtown and meters run until 9PM.
Here’s a map of some suggested areas to park.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATIONS
There are plenty of hotels in the metro Detroit area, although not so many in Royal Oak itself. Try nearby cities such as Troy, Warren, Madison Heights or Novi. If you really need a free place to crash, email us and we’ll see what we can work out!
THINGS TO DO AROUND DETROIT
Lots!! Royal Oak is centrally located in metro Detroit with most attractions within a 30 minute drive.
Downtown Royal Oak is known for its bars and restaurants so you’ll have no trouble finding a place to eat and drink.
Detroit area art galleries include C-Pop, the Detroit Artists Market, Cranbrook Academy of Art and Pewabic Pottery. The Detroit Institute of Art is closed for renovations and currently features an artist designed miniature golf course.
The Detroit Zoo is located in Royal Oak about a mile from the store.
Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum are located in Dearborn, about 30 minutes from Royal Oak. There is also an IMAX theater there.
The Detroit Science Center and Cranbrook are both cool places for science.
Great Lakes Crossing is a popular outlet mall located 30 minutes North. Somerset is an upscale mall located about 15 minutes north.
Frankenmuth an old-fashioned German town where Christmas thrives year-round is about 90 minutes north.
